DURANGO, Colo. – (June 18, 2013) – Chinook Medical Gear, a leading supplier of custom medical solutions and field medical supplies, was recently named as one of the Top 50 2013 Colorado Companies to Watch (COCTW). Hosted by the Colorado Office of Economic Development and the Edward Lowe Foundation and launched in 2009, the COCTW is an awards program that honors second-stage companies for their role in supporting Colorado economics and communities.
This year over 800 businesses were nominated, while only fifty finalists were added to the list. The award recognizes Colorado companies that are thriving, growing the state’s economy and creating jobs. Chinook accomplishes this by offering high quality medical products suited to organizations that operate in austere environments, while providing exceptional customer service. Ethical business practices, an empowered staff and a unique culture of respect, passion and innovative excellence are key principles Chinook utilizes to achieve success both internally and externally.
Chinook is a leading distributor and manufacturer of tactical medical kits and emergency medical supplies for military units, government agencies, and law enforcement agencies. Based in Durango, Colo., Chinook employs over 20 people and has grown at an average rate of 17-percent per year for the last 5 years.
“It’s an honor to join the ranks with so many other accomplished businesses in our region,” states Jessica Denison, COO with Chinook Medical Gear. “It’s exciting to see our team’s diligent efforts paying off, especially during otherwise challenging economic times.”
Chinook and the other 49 finalists will be officially recognized on June 28, 2013 at the Colorado Companies to Watch Gala Awards Dinner in Denver. Based in Durango over 300 miles from Denver, Chinook is proud to join a growing list of companies in this region whose products and services are making a difference. The area currently holds the record for the most “Colorado Companies to Watch” winners of any rural area in the state.
