Homeland Security Grant Program-Apply by June 24

FY 2013 Homeland Security Grant Program (HSGP)

In Fiscal Year 2013, DHS will award $968,389,689 to enhance the ability of states and territories to prevent, protect against, respond to and recover from potential terrorist acts and other hazards.

The need for these financial resources is supported by The Hartford Consensus in the paper “Improving Survival from Active Shooter Events“. On April 2, 2013, the American College of Surgeons and the Federal Bureau of Investigation jointly collaborated to bring together senior leaders from the medical, law enforcement, fire/rescue, EMS first responders and military community to address the issue of Active Shooter/mass casualty events. The purpose of the document is to promote local, state, and national policies to improve survival in these uncommon, but horrific events.
